Started Pastoral Ministry in 2004 and have served as a Worship, Youth, and Teaching Pastor before taking on the role of the Lead Pastor at Discovery Church. Attended Jos ECWA Theological Seminary (Nigeria), George W. Truett Seminary and Dianna R. I love the Lord and the Church, and count it an honor to lead and shepherd God’s people and reach others with the gospel.
I enjoy learning, taking walks with Chá, going on dates with my daughters, playing soccer, and watching a good action movie.
Jon Monsour

Jon met his wife Kristi while at Denver Seminary and they got married in August of 2015. Together, they love to take adventures and spending time with their cats, Mack & Moose.
Jessica Brennan
Children's Ministry Assistant
I was born in St. Cloud, MN, but moved many times during my childhood throughout the state as my parents went to Bible college and my dad went to seminary. It seems as if I have been involved in Children's Ministries since I was a child myself. My dad lead a bus ministry in inner city St. Paul and was in charge of children's church where we attended. My siblings and I helped him with projects, family visits, and events for the kids. It was so much fun! I think this was how my passion blossomed.
I have continued working with children in a ministry capacity during college and into adulthood and was asked to join Discovery's Children's Ministry team over ten years ago. I absolutely love it! Bringing children closer to Jesus fills me with so much joy. Children are the future of our church!
I have been married to my wonderful husband, Bill, for twenty-four years. We have five amazing children and three beautiful grandchildren so far. In my spare time I enjoy gardening, reading, crafts and hiking with friends.
Sue Mustain
Worship Coordinator
Sue has a heart for leading people before the throne of God. Originally from Willmar, Sue uses her gifts to bring songs of praise to the Lord and believes helping others do the same is an incredible honor.
Psalm 33:1-3 says, "Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise Him. Praise the Lord with the harp; make music to Him on the ten-stringed lyre. Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully and shout for joy." Sue longs for the worship team to give the Lord the very best in worship, to become invisible so that HE may be visible.
Sue is married to Barry, who is also a gifted musician and song writer. They have two daughters, Isabella and Bailee. As a family they love spending time together playing games and watching movies.
Paula Russ
Children’s Ministry Director
I was born in Chile, South America, and earned my degree as a Preschool Teacher from the University of Playa Ancha. For 10 years, I worked as a teacher in Chile before my family and I moved to Minnesota 13 years ago.
I have been married to my husband, Claudio, for 25 years, and together we are blessed with five wonderful children: Cris, Ben, Matteo, Oliver, and Emma. In my free time, I enjoy baking and spending time with family.
I have always loved working with children and families, both in the classroom and in ministry. Serving in the Children's Ministry brings me great joy because I get to help kids learn about God’s love, grow in their faith, and feel part of the church family. Watching them discover how much Jesus cares for them and seeing their excitement as they learn and worship inspires me every week.
